The Legend that is Ferrari
Ferrari is a name that instantly evokes images of speed, elegance, and racing heritage. The story begins in 1939 when Enzo Ferrari, having parted ways with Alfa Romeo’s racing team, established Auto Avio Costruzioni. Though the first car he built bore that name in 1940, the first true Ferrari — the 125 S — emerged from the factory in Maranello in 1947, complete with a V12 engine designed by the young but brilliant Gioachino Colombo.
From the outset, racing was Ferrari’s passion. Enzo himself was never truly interested in building road cars — they were simply a means to fund the Scuderia Ferrari racing team. By the early 1950s, Ferrari had made its mark in Formula One, securing a World Championship title with Alberto Ascari in 1952. That early success set the tone for decades of competition, with Ferrari becoming the most storied name in F1 history.
In the decades that followed, Ferrari created road cars that were as desirable as they were powerful. The 1960s saw masterpieces like the 250 GTO and the 275 GTB — cars now considered among the most valuable and beautiful ever built. By the 1980s, the brand had become a cultural icon, producing cars like the Testarossa and the F40 — the latter being the last model approved by Enzo himself before his death in 1988.
The modern era has seen Ferrari combine its traditional values with cutting-edge innovation. Models such as the 458 Italia brought advanced aerodynamics and driver-focused design, while the LaFerrari pushed into hybrid territory without losing any of the marque’s trademark excitement. More recently, the SF90 Stradale marked a new step forward, being the company’s first plug-in hybrid — offering staggering performance alongside improved efficiency.
Ferrari’s evolution has also included ventures into new territory. The Purosangue, its first SUV-like model, signals a shift towards broader appeal, while plans for fully electric models show a brand willing to adapt, yet always on its own terms.
Despite the changes over the years, Ferrari’s core spirit remains unchanged. It continues to build machines that stir emotion, demand respect, and embody a blend of performance and beauty that few can match.

I was shocked when they offered half price compared to other insurance companies for my 1963 F100. Not only the price but they also reply very quickly, overall a great experience with them.
